About Utility Sales and Service

Utility Sales & Service (USSI) was founded by Bill Loehrke in 1993. From the start USSI focused on building highly reliable vehicles, customized to our customers’ needs and backing them with outstanding service and parts support. As a result, we have become the Midwest’s preeminent manufacturer of aerial lift and work vehicles for organizations servicing our nation’s infrastructure. Bill retired from the business in 2018.

At our facilities in Appleton, WI. we design, manufacture, service, and supply parts support for our customers. We are committed to being honest, ethical, and respectful in dealing with everyone.

Ted Breidenbach – CEO/Owner

Ted is an engineer who retired from John Deere after 37 years of service and held leadership positions in all of Deere’s global equipment businesses. Ted acquired the company from Bill Loehrke in 2016 and is committed to exceeding the needs of our customers as well as continually improving the business.

Al Borchers - Vice President, Operations

Al Borchers has a deep understanding of aerial lift and utility equipment having worked 34 years at WPS in roles of increasing responsibility including Green Bay Garage Supervisor, Fleet Maintenance Manager, and Fleet Design & Procurement Manager. After retiring from WPS Al joined USSI as our Operations & Refurbishment Manager and subsequently became our Vice President of Customer Support and most recently Vice President of Operations.
