OVERALL SUMMARY
Responsible for various types of installation mechanics. Elliott products are manufactured to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction for installation. Also includes custom installation of hydraulic valves, cylinders, and controls.

HYDRAULIC MECHANIC ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including Hydraulic and Electrical
- Conventional and precision measuring instruments
- Process inspection, certification, and documentation
- Builds and/or modifies equipment in accordance to established specifications to meet specific project requirements
- Repairs and/or modifies existing and new products accordance with established specifications and procedures
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
- Punctual and regular attendance is required
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Must have own tools
HYDRAULIC MECHANIC REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma, or equivalent
- Previous mechanical experience required
- Three years of Hydraulic and Electrical knowledge in a job shop environment preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential job functions of this job.
- The majority of the time will be inside conditions with protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Some work is outside working conditions with no control over weather conditions.
- There are periodic high noise levels and vibration associated with this job. Sources include: engine noise, air compressors, air powered equipment, and other shop noises.
- There are a variety of physical hazards in which there is danger to life, health, or bodily injury, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving equipment, heavy parts, electrical shock, engine exhaust, working on elevated equipment, exposure to burns, and exposure to explosives (gases).

Truck Upfitter Details:
Utility Sales & Service is a rapidly growing truck equipment upfitter and service provider of custom-made trucks located in Appleton, WI. Our equipment is used to build and service our nation’s infrastructure. We are seeking a 1st Shift Truck Upfitter.

Truck Upfitter will be fully trained to perform the following duties:
- To work as part of team building custom trucks.
- Follow product bill of materials, drawings, written instructions, pictures, and quality control documents to build trucks.
- Installation of major components including bodies, aerial & digger devices, winches, etc.
- Assembly and testing of truck mounted equipment and hydraulic systems.
- Fit and assemble prefabricated and purchased components to the truck.
- Utilize various hand and power tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes to perform job functions.
- Perform testing of trucks and truck mounted equipment as required.
Qualifications for Truck Upfitter:
- Demonstrated mechanical assembly skills, specifically building large mobile equipment.
- 2+ years of experience assembling, testing and diagnosing hydraulic systems, preferably on mobile equipment.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic schematics, electrical schematics, layout drawings, 3D models, and interpreting photos.
- The ability to work 50ft in the air on aerial equipment.
- Is self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
- Must also be able to bend, twist and occasionally lift up to 75 lbs.
- Must supply a personal set of basic tools or have the ability to acquire. Company guidance on tools required will be provided.

With our continued growth, we are looking to add an Equipment Inspection and Delivery Associate to our team to directly interface our customers when picking up, dropping off, or delivering rental equipment.
Equipment Inspection and Delivery Associate Responsibilities:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, demonstrating, inspecting, and cleaning our rental equipment to prepare it for our customers. In this role, you will also be responsible for delivery and pickup of rental or customer equipment, and to retrieve parts and materials. The Equipment Inspection and Delivery Associate will work in our shop environment but reports to the Business Manager who runs the rental operations.
- Equipment Inspection and Delivery Associate Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in automotive or equipment industries. Rental industry is a plus.
- USSI Rentals will train the candidate in our specific business processes and workflows. The successful candidate will also receive training to safely operate, inspect, clean, and demonstrate our rental equipment.
- Basic hand tools are required for the position.
- A Valid class C driver's license and clean driving record are required. A CDL is a plus but not required.
- The ability to work 50ft in the air on aerial equipment.
- Customer Service experience is a plus.
- Successful completion of a physical, background check and drug test are required before starting this Equipment Inspection and Delivery Associate role.

The purpose of this position is to provide the Service Youth Apprentice with a thorough understanding and basic training of the various duties that are part of the Truck Assembler’s role at Utility Sales & Service, Inc. (“USSI”), via hands-on education and mentorship.
The Production Youth Apprentice assists in providing quality assembly and installation of various manufacturers’ models of aerial lifts, digger derricks, truck-mounted cranes, service bodies and other mobile equipment. The Production Youth Apprentice will assist Senior Truck Assemblers and Team Leaders in prepping, installing and testing major equipment and minor components per company specifications and safety guidelines. The individual will work under constant supervision.
Qualifications and Requirements
- As part of our pre-employment hiring process background checks and drug screens are performed.
- Ability to climb ladders, squat, kneel, crawl under equipment and climb on chassis and bodies.
- Ability and dexterity to safely use a variety of hand, electrical and pneumatic tools (provided by USSI).
- Ability to lift items up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to read and understand English text.
- Ability to legibly write English text.
- Ability to understand and follow instruction/training.
- Maintain a positive attitude to process and understand professional constructive criticism.
Job Duties (But Not Limited To)
- Installation of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and structural components of customer and USSI equipment.
- Minor welding of small components as needed.
- Assist in inspection and testing of trucks as required.
- Maintain and hold inventory of USSI supplied tools and equipment.
- Complete text forms and maintain time records
- Perform other tasks as needed to provide a safe, clean work environment.
- Other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Work Hours
Part-time, weekdays (Monday through Friday), 1st shift. The total hours per week, scheduled days and their work hours are flexible to coordinate with the Production Youth Apprentice’s school schedule.
Salary
- Starting at $18.00 per hour.
Other Benefits
This position is eligible for USSI’s quarterly bonus program, based on profitability of the company.

We are seeking a 1st Shift Road Service Mechanic to service clients in Western WI and Eastern MN, in a 75–100 mile (approximate) radius. You may also service Northwestern IL and Eastern IA clients. Occasional overnight travel is required.

- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Hydraulic and chassis electrical experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
- CDL preferred but not required (for test driving repaired trucks)
