Youth Apprenticeship Spotlight: Owen Carlson
At USSI, we take great pride in helping young talent gain real-world experience and build foundational skills for their careers. Through the Wolf River Youth Apprenticeship Program, we’ve had the privilege of working with Owen Carlson, a Youth Apprentice from Shiocton, who has quickly become a valued member of our team.
Owen’s Growth and Contributions
Since joining USSI, Owen has demonstrated an incredible willingness to learn and contribute. Under the mentorship of our experienced team, he’s developed hands-on skills in truck building, welding, assembly, and hydraulics. These are essential, practical skills that play a critical role in the services we provide to our customers every day.
Owen’s proactive approach and strong work ethic stand out. Whether it’s assisting with complex builds or tackling day-to-day tasks, he’s always ready to lend a hand. His ability to adapt, work alongside team members, and tackle new challenges has proven that he’s not just an apprentice but an integral part of the USSI team.
Why Youth Apprenticeships Matter
Programs like the Wolf River Youth Apprenticeship bridge the gap between education and industry. They provide students like Owen with invaluable opportunities to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world setting while gaining insight into future career paths.
For USSI, it’s a chance to invest in the next generation of skilled workers. Apprenticeships help us foster new talent, pass down expertise, and contribute to the development of our community’s workforce.
A Bright Future Ahead
We’re proud of the progress Owen has made in such a short time. His dedication to learning and his positive attitude set him up for success in any path he chooses. At USSI, we’re excited to see where his skills and determination will take him, and we’re grateful to have been a part of his journey.
