USSI has developed a replacement aluminum 5″ sheave to help relieve customer concerns of friction melting on the OEM composite 5″ Sheave and winch rope at the boom tip of Versalift’s TMD model digger derrick. The sheave is machined to the exact dimensional specifications of the OEM composite sheave and may be installed without modification.

This product is a single piece machined aluminum sheave incorporating a pressed-in bronze alloy Oilite® bushing with self-lubricating properties. To enhance the “grip” of the rope to the sheave and promote rotation, the throat of the sheave has a slightly coarse surface that provides traction but will not damage the rope. Other than applying lubricant during assembly, no special maintenance is required beyond the manufacturer’s planned maintenance.
